The TWIN SYNERGIES project is a 24-month initiative to align innovation processes in Widening countries with EU priorities. The project enhances competitiveness, attracts investments, and drives sustainable economic growth by fostering policy alignment, governance improvements, and global collaboration.
In the Project, Work Package 3 (WP3) focuses on enhancing skills through a Capacity building program. The program has been designed to improve the competencies of TWIN SYNERGIES partners, also engaging a limited number of the local/regional R&I ecosystem actors, with the proposal writing (focusing on HORIZON EUROPE Programme) throughout the implementation of dedicated training, and Innovation & Technology Transfer (I&TT) related skills by implementing tailored coaching sessions.
Led by Steinbeis Europa Zentrum (SEZ), WP3 plays a central role in developing transferable skills, strengthening innovation capacities, and supporting organizations in securing EU R&I funding.
The first coaching session on Innovation Management, held in October 2024, brought together over 30 participants in an interactive setting. Key topics included Innovation Processes, Innovation Strategy as well as Innovation management tools. The positive feedback highlighted the effectiveness of this hands-on approach. SEZ is now preparing the second coaching session on Business Internationalization, designed for Universities and Regional Development Agencies, tackling topics such as International entrepreneurial orientation and the Competition between Universities’
orientation and performance. The last coaching session on Strategic Communication is scheduled for June 2025 and aims to improve communication skills relevant to working in international and Quadruple Helix environments. Complementing these efforts, a training program related to the HORIZON EUROPE proposal development was also integrated. An introductory online session in September 2024 welcomed over 100 participants, incorporating interactive exercises to enhance engagement. The first in-person training took place in December 2024 at the Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, and back-to-back with the 2nd Steering Committee meeting, offering a fruitful collaborative learning experience and enabling the progress of our collaboration. We are thrilled about the upcoming second training in April 2025 in Zagreb, Croatia, hosted by Algebra University, which will focus on proposal concept development, impact strategies, and consortium building. As for the final training session will be held in July 2025 in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.
As the objective of the TWIN SYNERGIES project is to enable the consortium and the stakeholder's access to EU funding by equipping them with the right skills, these efforts will all come together at the end of WP3, with the development of a guide model to support organisations in preparing competitive EU proposals and strengthening I& TT-related activities.
Stay tuned for updates and upcoming sessions on our TWIN SYNERGIES LinkedIn, Facebook, and X pages.
